On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of revolutionary colonists (calling themselves the Sons of Liberty, and led by Sam Adams), decided to take action. Under cover of night, they dressed up as Indians, boarded the ships, and in 3 hours, tossed 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor. This single event became the spark that would eventually light the fire of Liberty around the world—it was known as the Boston Tea Party.

After one hundred years of tyranny, taxation, and exploitation, and with no representation in Parliament, many failed attempts at diplomatic solutions, and Britain’s increasing violence against colonists, the first American citizens declared their Independence. War followed, and from it, out of the bloodshed, sacrifice, and sacred honor of many brave Patriots, our great country was born.

On April 15th, 2009, large groups of Americans—fed up with out-of-control government growth and reckless spending—held coordinated protests, in small towns and big cities all throughout the country. These were the first of what we know now as TEA Parties. Besides commemorating our revolutionary roots at the Boston Tea Party, TEA has also stood for “Taxed Enough Already”. Since their inception on April 15th, tax day, Tea Party rallies and similar protests are being held throughout the year and around the country.

Organized by members of our group, Hanover, Pennsylvania, held its first Tea Party on April 15th, 2010. By all accounts, it was a huge success for our town and citizens. With roughly 400 people in attendance, both local citizens and elected officials spoke to an attentive, diverse, and enthusiastic crowd, which responded in applause and cheers, signs displayed proudly, and with waving Gadsden and American flags. Speakers addressed problems at all levels of government, and more importantly, discussed the steps necessary to fix them. In addition to the political kinship evident that day, and giving people an outlet for their voice, pocket Constitutions were distributed, petitions were signed, and new voters were registered. Much was accomplished, and we were all energized.

But after the Hanover Tea Party, the same question kept coming up: "So NOW what?" Well friends and fellow Patriots—here it is:
